So after months of neglect and back-and-forth thinking, I've settled on a hybrid system of static flat files and.. basically creating my own crude CMS here. Could I have just installed Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, or something else? Sure! BUT... Here's the thing kiddos. In 2026, running these things can be a fucking death sentence for any website. The vuln scanning alone is enough to crush most independent hosting setups or really basic VPS hosting plans. So scan all you want, I'll save you the trouble and publish the source code for how I'm doing this somewhere if you're really that curious. It's a mix of old and new concepts that leave me with dumping raw text files into a folder to show you this blog post, but more importantly, there's no database, no admin login page to protect, no database. The filesystem is the database. Filesystems have ALWAYS been the database. Having a filesystem for your filesystem is a bit insane in 90% of use cases. Anyway... We'll see how this iteration goes, but don't count on it sticking around. It'll be interesting to see if this is still here in a year in it's current format. And yes, there was input from an AI in making sure my PHP was written appropriately. But we'll get into that another day.
